The Lake Situation

Debut album from The Lake Situation: the new project from Tim Ineson (ex nub, the seals). 12 Tracks of jagged modern rock, at times recalling bands like The Dismemberment Plan, Mandarin, Life and Times and Shudder to Think.

Layered guitars, shifting time signatures and tracks that jump in nature from epic to jarring, whilst maintaining their trademark vocal restraint. The longer tracks are punctuated by short instrumentals binding the collection into an entirely cohesive release. Painstakingly written over a 4 year period, then recorded in early 2008 the project is finally ready for release.

Gleaming tunes, things that shudder to think, an album that’s just a refined sublime pleasure to spend time and space with.

Organ

…gripped as it is with a brutally beautiful tension that’s wrapped with a pulsing push / pull dynamic wherein the melodies brood and simmer. Veers in close proximity to the same untamed dread laced and wiring psychosis that smarted the wax lines of those early Pixies outings. Genius stuff.

Losing Today

The Lake Situation define a typical a cult act with a willfully subversive streak guaranteed to send the average music fan scurrying away into a corner whilst the more adventurous listener is rewarded for his patience.
